SAP Pay adds USDC and EURC payments
SAP-backed Tereina has launched SAP Pay inside SAP Cloud ERP and partnered with Circle to add USDC and EURC settlement alongside traditional payment rails.

Stablecoins are moving deeper into everyday business finance. On 6 October 2026, Tereina, a payments company in which SAP holds a stake, launched SAP Pay, a payment service built directly into SAP Cloud ERP. A day later, Tereina announced a partnership with Circle to bring the USDC and EURC stablecoins into the platform.
The idea is simple: companies should be able to pay suppliers, employees and affiliates from the software they already use to run their finances, without switching to a separate payment platform.
What SAP Pay does
SAP Pay sits inside SAP Cloud ERP and supports several payment rails, including ACH, EFT, wire transfers, cheques and stablecoin settlement. It also offers automated reconciliation, fraud detection and multi-rail routing. According to reports, the product took around two and a half years to build and is currently available in the United States and the United Kingdom, across 89 payment corridors.
Tereina says the service can cut payment costs by up to 25 percent by working with existing payment providers rather than replacing them. As with any company claim, actual savings will depend on each business and the payments it makes.
Where USDC and EURC fit in
Under the partnership, USDC will be the preferred stablecoin for dollar-denominated payment workflows, while EURC will be available for euro-denominated activity. Businesses will be able to send and receive these stablecoins within the applications they already use to manage payments, with blockchain-based settlement embedded in the background.
Circle's Arc blockchain has been named as the preferred network for eligible transactions. Arc's mainnet launched in mid-September 2026 and supports more than 20 fiat-backed stablecoins, using USDC to pay transaction fees.
Why enterprise software matters
The announcement highlights how big the potential reach is. According to the companies, the SAP ecosystem is involved in 84 percent of global commerce. Even a small share of that activity moving to stablecoin rails would be significant for the market, which has so far grown mainly through trading and consumer transfers.
For finance teams, the main attraction is speed and availability. Stablecoin settlement can take place around the clock, including weekends, which can help with cross-border supplier payments and with managing cash across different entities and time zones.
What businesses should consider
Stablecoin payments come with their own questions. The receiving party must be able to accept them, accounting and tax treatment differs from country to country, and finance teams need clear policies on which tokens and networks they use. Building the option into ERP software does not remove these questions, but it puts stablecoins in the same approval, reporting and reconciliation flow as other payments, which can make controls easier to manage.
What comes next
Tereina and Circle plan to run joint proof-of-value programmes with customers over the coming months, train treasury and payments specialists, and work with ecosystem partners to learn how businesses actually use stablecoins in their workflows. The results will show whether enterprise demand matches the size of the opportunity.
The bigger picture
The move is part of a wider shift in 2026, as banks, payment networks and software providers test stablecoins for real business payments. As regulation becomes clearer in the United States and Europe, embedding digital dollars and euros in familiar tools may prove to be one of the fastest routes to mainstream adoption.
