How to top up a balance with USDT or USDC

USDT and USDC tokens moving into a phone app with a network selected

To top up a balance with USDT or USDC, open the app you want to fund, choose the stablecoin, copy the deposit address and send the funds from your wallet or exchange on the network shown. The balance updates once the network has confirmed the transfer.

Before you start

  • A verified account with the app you are topping up. Most regulated services ask you to verify your identity first.

  • USDT or USDC in a wallet or exchange that lets you withdraw to an external address.

  • Stablecoin top-ups available in your country. Availability depends on the service and on local rules.

Step by step

Top up with USDT or USDC, step by step

  1. Open the app

Open the app whose balance you want to top up and go to its deposit or top-up option.

  2. Choose USDT or USDC

Pick the stablecoin you want to send.

  3. Check the network

Look at the network shown next to the deposit address. Use only that network.

  4. Copy the address

Copy the address with the copy button or scan the QR code. Don't type it by hand.

  5. Send from your wallet or exchange

Paste the address, choose the same network and send.

  6. Wait for confirmation

The balance updates after the network confirms the transfer.

Choosing the right network

USDT and USDC exist on several blockchain networks, such as Tron (TRC20), Ethereum (ERC20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), Solana, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism and TON. Each app supports only some of them and shows which ones next to the deposit address. Always check the network before sending, and send only on the network shown next to the address. If you send on a different network, the funds may not arrive and may not be recoverable.

How long does it take?

It depends on the network and how busy it is. Most transfers arrive after the network has confirmed them.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Wrong network: always match the network shown next to the address.

  • Wrong token: send only the coin you chose, USDT or USDC.

  • Typing the address by hand: copy and paste it, or scan the QR code.

  • Unverified account: finish identity verification before you send.

After you top up

Check that the amount has arrived in the balance. Keep the transaction ID (hash) from your wallet or exchange until it does. New to stablecoins? Read what stablecoins are and what a crypto card is.
